The Ong Ko Met Benevolent Association of Sacramento is proud to announce the June 7, 2025 dissemination of the OKM Scholarship Application for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
Ong Ko Met Benevolent Association of Sacramento (OKMBAS) supports and advances the awareness of Asian-American concerns and issues through education and outreach. Scholarships to be awarded based on the availability of funds to students continuing their college education in 2025-2026 academic year.

Selection of Scholarship Recipients
OKMBAS does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national and ethnic origin or disability. In support of OKMBAS’s mission and goals, we encourage applicants of Chinese ancestry.
OKMBAS is offering two types of scholarships.
Two OKMBAS General Scholarships: Two at $500.00 each.
Two OKMBAS Specific Scholarships: One at $500 and one at $750.
SECTION I. Applicant Eligibility and Requirements
All student applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of the greater Sacramento region
- Be enrolled as a Full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university for the 2025-2026 Academic Year
- Possess a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.00
- Participate in Asian-American community social or cultural issues and activities
- OKM to receive a completed OKMBAS Scholarship Application by E-Mail to scholarships@okmsac.org or by U.S. Mail by June 28, 2025. A Late or Incomplete Application will not be accepted
- Submit two letters of recommendation from two non-related individuals
- Submit official college or university transcripts
- Semi-Finalists shall be available for a personal interview via Zoom or Skype from June 28, 2025 to June 30, 2025
SECTION II. Selection of Scholarship Recipients
Applicants will be notified of the status of their application by JULY 4, 2025.

- Submit a completed OKMBAS Scholarship Application by June 28, 2025 by U.S. Postal Service Mail or by E-Mail to : scholarships@okmsac.org
- Submit two letters of recommendation from two non-related individuals
- Submit official college or university transcripts
- Semi-Finalists shall be available for a personal interview via Zoom or Skype from June 28, 2025 through July 3, 2025

Provide a written statement not to exceed 2 standard letter-sized pages. Be sure your name and the name of
your college/university appear at the top of each page.
Please use Times New Roman or Arial font, 12-points in size throughout.
Address each of the following:
· Your participation in Asian-American community social and/or cultural issues and or activities
· Your Academic and non-academic awards and accomplishments
· Include dates and positions of leadership you held and your primary responsibilities
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION Please submit two letters of recommendation written within the last six (6) months by non-related individuals.
The letters must clearly refer to you by name and provide comments that describe your character and abilities. The name, occupation, and contact information for each author must also appear on the letters.
CERTIFICATIONS I understand that late or incomplete applications will not be considered. My ability to accurately follow instructions will be considered during the selection process.
- I certify that I am currently enrolled as a Full-time undergraduate or graduate college student at an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university.
- If awarded a OKMBAS Scholarship, I hereby authorize OKMBAS to use the information on my application for publicity or public relations purposes.
- I certify that all of my information on this application is true and complete to the best of my knowledge and that I will forfeit my award if any information that I provide is found to be deliberately false, inaccurate, or misleading.
